Asfa Ali Testimonial 5-2010

My good student Asfa Ali from Plaistow

Being with Noel for over two years just shows how paitent he was for me to pass my drinving. He gave me alot of knowledge and guidance which will stay with me even after passing me test. Noel techniques made me feel very comfortable to drive as a learner with him. When i needed the push he would encourage me to do so. Noel does not spoon feed his students he like to see if his student understand driving on there own but that is when your at the stage where your meant to have a idea on what to do. I realised he meets the needs of the student. As he has taught a few members of my family he came about a differnt approach for all of us. For example he realised that i learn better reading what to do he advised me into buying a book that would help me. When i made all my mistakes and believe me there were alot of them he was very paitent and determined to help me understand what i was doing wrong and how i can come about making these mistakes. He is a nice man and is very friendly but when it time to be a teacher he don’t hold back. Also he gives credit for good driving when it's due. But one thing i liked about him was that when i made a mistake while I was driving he would wait until we pulled up to explain and talk about it. His famous line was ‘What was wrong there?’. I think these qualties of his have helped me passed me test first time round with only 2 minor mistakes. I recommend anyone that willing to listen to a trained instructor to choose Noel. He will always gurantee a pass in your test and he always there to help.

Thanks Noel for all your help..

Asfa Ali

PS: Docklands Driving School will show you how to pass your driving test the first time.

Easter blessing

Dear Friends,
I would like to wish you all a wonderful Easter, I hope it is full of Happiness
and memorable times with your loved ones.

At Easter many of us reflect on Jesus rising from the tomb, a new Chick hatching
from it's egg, the baa of newborn lambs or daffodils bursting through the soiI.

These images represent the blessing of new life ahead, a life of hope and optimism
and the fullfillment of your long awaited dreams and goals.

For me Easter is about the fun and relaxation of a 4 day weekend as well as a time
of appreciation.

So thank you, thank you for all of your support.

I sincerely hope you enjoy this long and blessed Easter Weekend!

Approved driving instructor (ADI) check tests in English or Welsh

From 1 October 2010 the Driving Standards Agency will align the languages in which check tests are conducted with those used for ADI practical tests.

The part 2 (driving ability) and part 3 (instructional ability) tests are conducted in English or Welsh only. Most ADIs who have qualified in Great Britain then continue to have their check tests conducted in these languages.

There has been an increase in the numbers of driving instructors from member European states transferring their registration onto our Register, having qualified in their country of origin. This has resulted in some check tests being conducted in languages other than English or Welsh.

The number of EC ADIs transferring their registration to GB is small. From 2005 to date, 65 have joined the Register, of which 30 were in 2009. There are now around 45,500 ADIs on the Register and we aim to conduct around 16,000 check tests per year.

A check test relies on an examiner understanding the verbal instruction being given by the ADI to the pupil, in order for them to form their assessment of the lesson and to grade the ADI’s instructional ability.

Clearly if a lesson is conducted in a language other than English or Welsh, the examiner may be unable to understand the instruction given. We have therefore decided that all check tests must be conducted in English or Welsh.

This is not a change to any Regulation but is a change in practice and as such we give notice that this will be effective from 1 October 2010. All documentation, including the notes for guidance sent out with check test invitations, will be amended to make this requirement clear.

Carol testimonial

What Carol said.

I have been a pupil of Noel Christopher for approximately 2 years. I think the thing that makes me different from many students that he teachers is that I started to learn to drive at the age of 55. I was very nervous and unsure if this venture was worth pursuing at my time of life. Noel gave me every confidence. His humour, skills and professionalism. I enjoyed each lesson and new challenges as his "mature student" I would most definitely recommend him to young and not so young students.

Thank you Noel.
